Volleyball Recap: Southern Christian Takes a Loss

Southern Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 23 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 3-0 to the Evangel Christian Lightning. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Evangel Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 7, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Leading Evangel Christian to victory were Erin Campbell and Makayla Cranford. Campbell had four aces and three digs, while Cranford hit 81.8% for nine kills and five aces, three digs, and one block. Those 81.8% hitting percentage gave Cranford a new career-high.

Southern Christian has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 18th. As for Evangel Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against East Central HomeSchool on the 19th.
