Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for White County

White County waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Clay County Bulldogs as they made off with a 7-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-1 on Thursday.

Griffin Adams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of White County's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Adams was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kason Seal was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Walker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

White County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay County only posted a batting average of .062.

White County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clay County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Coming up, White County will square off against Jackson County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Clay County, they will take on Livingston Academy at 2:40 p.m. on Friday.
