Baseball Recap: Eaglecrest Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Eaglecrest ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against the Vista PEAK Prep Bison by a score of 13-10. With that victory, the Raptors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Eaglecrest got a great performance from Logan Franks as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cosme Vera was incredible, scoring a run while going 6-for-6. Those six hits gave him a new career-high. Blake Anderson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

Eaglecrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eaglecrest's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Vista PEAK Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Eaglecrest will take on Northfield at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they will venture away from home to take on Grandview at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Grandview will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Vista PEAK Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
