Basketball Recap: Keoni Espeleta's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hercules over Alhambra

Hercules was the 57-53 winner over Alhambra when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Hercules Titans took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alhambra Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 902nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 335th).

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keoni Espeleta, who posted 18 points. Tyler Bautista was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Hercules now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Alhambra, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Hercules wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-44 victory against Kennedy on the 7th. Alhambra has also already played their next match, a 71-47 defeat against California on the 7th.
