Baseball Recap: Rutgers Prep Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ridge, Rutgers Prep was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Princeton Day Panthers. The victory continues a trend for the Argonauts in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Roshan Jagannathan looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ethan Nepomuceno was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Alex Perez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Rutgers Prep's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Princeton Day, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Rutgers Prep will head out on the road to face off against Hopewell Valley Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Princeton Day, they will face off against Dunellen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
