Preview: Beloit Trojans vs. Republic County Buffaloes
Beloit is 10-0 against Republic County since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Beloit Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Republic County Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Beloit will be strutting in after a victory while Republic County will be coming in after a loss.
Beloit entered their tilt with Southeast of Saline with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Beloit managed a 44-40 win over Southeast of Saline on Friday. Given Beloit's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Southeast of Saline is ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beloit relied on the efforts of Eli Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Bryce Beisner, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Beisner has scored at least 25% of Beloit's points. Noah Gerstner was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, Republic County came up short against Valley Heights on Friday and fell 44-33.
Their wins bumped Beloit to 3-0 and Southeast of Saline to 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Beloit against Republic County in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 66-31 victory. Does Beloit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Republic County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
