Softball Recap: Valley Head Tigers vs. Skyline Vikings
If Valley Head was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Woodville on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 17-8 to the Skyline Vikings on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent loss being a 18-3 defeat on Friday.
Raegan Key was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Black, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run.
Valley Head has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-22-2 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Skyline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-29.
