Softball Recap: Sparta Beats Vernon for Their Fourth Straight Win

Sparta came out on top against Vernon on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Spartans took their contest against the Vikings 7-4. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

The win (which was Sparta's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Vernon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Sparta has already played their next match (against Roxbury), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Vernon will be paying especially close attention to the Spartans' game: after the Spartans face off against the Gaels, they'll take on Vernon again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
