Camarillo put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 26-8 victory over the Rio Mesa Spartans. Given the Scorpions' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Spartans are ranked 95th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jaeah Blaney continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 178 yards and three touchdowns.

Camarillo didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Rio Mesa to a completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Chloe Joseph, Nieve Oliver, and Stella Alessi, who each logged one passes deflected. Camarillo wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 58.8%.

Camarillo's defense didn't let Jadeline Gonzalez., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Riley Kavanagh and Oliver, who racked up all six sacks between them. Kavanagh has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last seven times she's played.

Camarillo's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Rio Mesa, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Camarillo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-12 victory against Oxnard on the 23rd. As for Rio Mesa, they have also already played their next game, an 18-14 loss against Agoura on the 23rd.
