Basketball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Takes a Loss

Murrieta Mesa lost against Vista Murrieta back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Murrieta Mesa Rams took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista Murrieta Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Broncos are ranked 109th).

Murrieta Mesa has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Vista Murrieta, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.

Murrieta Mesa has already played their next contest (against Great Oak), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Vista Murrieta will venture away from home to challenge Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vista Murrieta knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 matches -- so hopefully Chaparral likes a good challenge.
