Baseball Recap: Valley Extends Winning Streak to Four

Valley entered their tilt with Wiggins on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Carson Adolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, Andrew Renken was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Valley is undefeated when Renken posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Wiggins, they moved to 4-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Valley will host Platte Valley at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Wiggins, they will head out to take on Akron at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
