Softball Game Preview: Lakeridge Pacers vs. West Linn Lions

Lakeridge and West Linn are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Pacers will face off against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Lakeridge turned things around against Lake Oswego on Friday. They came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 9-5.

MILLIE MACKENZIE was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. MADELINE MOEHL was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Meanwhile, West Linn narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tualatin 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won eight in a row.

Avery Wolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, West Linn's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emery Curtis, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Adi Johnston also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Lakeridge's record is now 2-9. As for West Linn, their record now sits at 10-3.

Lakeridge might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from West Linn in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Pacers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
