Hico is a perfect 7-0 against Meridian since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Hico will head out to face off against Meridian at 5:30 p.m. Hico has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hico had taken Rio Vista down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. Hico lost 15-3 to Rio Vista. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Eagles since April 6, 2021.

Hico saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addyson Swank, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 21-18 to Frost. One positive for the Yellowjackets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Brianna Rosales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and 19 unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Mariana Paniagua stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyna Potter, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Meridian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hico's record is now 2-7. As for Meridian, their record is now 0-5.

Hico took their win against Meridian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. Does Hico have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meridian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
