Basketball Game Preview: Moravian Academy Lions vs. Bethlehem Christian Panthers

The Moravian Academy Lions just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Bethlehem Christian Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Moravian Academy is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Pleasant Valley on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Moravian Academy was beaten by Pleasant Valley 56-26. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Christian waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against Upper Bucks Christian as they made off with a 67-47 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Upper Bucks Christian are ranked 698th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bethlehem Christian's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for Moravian Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Moravian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bethlehem Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win. Will Moravian Academy repeat their success, or does Bethlehem Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
