Basketball Game Preview: East River Falcons vs. Hagerty Huskies

The East River Falcons will take on the Hagerty Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East River took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down University 55-40.

Meanwhile, Hagerty won against Lyman on Friday with 51 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Hagerty had just enough and edged Freedom out 51-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Hagerty found their leader in freshman Shelby Maloney, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Maloney also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jarianna Fletcher, who posted eight points and 11 boards.

Hagerty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

East River's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Hagerty, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

East River came up short against Hagerty in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 50-45. Thankfully for East River, Kylee Kitts (who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 23 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
