Basketball Recap: River Ridge Skates Past Fivay with Ease

River Ridge waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Fivay Falcons 57-28. The Royal Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 28 points or more this season.

River Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Lee led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Lee has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Greene, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

River Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Fivay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.

River Ridge will face off against Academy of the Holy Names at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fivay, they and Zephyrhills will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Zephyrhills' defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Fivay's offense will have their work cut out for them.
