Basketball Game Preview: Grayling Vikings vs. Kingsley Stags

The Grayling Vikings will challenge the Kingsley Stags at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grayling has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Grayling took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Kalkaska 68-50. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Kingsley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Harbor Springs 78-36. While losing is never fun, the Stags can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while the Rams are ranked 34th).

Grayling's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-5. As for Kingsley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Things could have been worse for Grayling, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-40 loss to Kingsley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024.
