Basketball Game Preview: Chattahoochee Cougars vs. Lanier Longhorns

The Chattahoochee Cougars will challenge the Lanier Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Chattahoochee lost 44-23 to South Forsyth on Saturday. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Chattahoochee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Loren Withrite, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points, and Mayisha Kimoto, who posted two points and eight rebounds. Kimoto has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lanier beat Denmark 54-50 on Saturday.

The victory got Lanier back to even at 8-8. As for Chattahoochee, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Chattahoochee against Lanier in their previous meeting back in January of 2016, as the team secured a 61-34 win. Will Chattahoochee repeat their success, or does Lanier have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
