After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Penn, New Prairie was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 44-35 victory over the South Bend Washington Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

It was another big night for Reed Robinson, who rushed for 273 yards and six scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: New Prairie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 402 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Bend Washington only rushed for 84.

When it comes to explaining why South Bend Washington lost, don't look at Zy'Rell Greene. Despite the final result, he threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88% of his passes. Zykeen Slade was Greene's top target, picking up 79 receiving yards and one TD.

New Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for South Bend Washington, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. New Prairie will head out to take on Hobart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 914 yards in their previous games. As for South Bend Washington, they will welcome Plymouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Pilgrims/Rockies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.78 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
