Softball Recap: Richmond Comes Up Short

Richmond made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Telstar, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bobcats fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 12-10 on Tuesday. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rebels from their previous meeting back in May of 2021.

Breonna Dufresne and Charlotte Crawson did some serious damage despite the final result: Dufresne got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Crawson got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Dufresne has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Valley, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Richmond's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Telstar, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Richmond will face off against rival Carrabec at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Telstar is set to take on their familiar foe Buckfield at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
