Preview: Worth County/Northeast Nodaway Tigers vs. South Nodaway Longhorns
The Worth County/Northeast Nodaway Tigers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the South Nodaway Longhorns. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Worth County/Northeast Nodaway had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 64-14 victory over Pattonsburg on the road.
It was another big night for Tyler New, who rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. New's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Lucas Frisch was another key contributor, rushing for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Meanwhile, South Nodaway entered their tilt with King City with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. South Nodaway took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-8 victory over King City. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-8.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 9-1.
Worth County/Northeast Nodaway came up short against South Nodaway in their previous meeting back in August, falling 38-34. Can Worth County/Northeast Nodaway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
