Basketball Recap: Luella's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Luella and Cedar Grove squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Luella had to settle for second. They took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cedar Grove Saints. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th in Georgia, while the Saints are ranked 12th in Georgia).

It was another big night for Emanuel Green, who posted 23 points for Cedar Grove. Javonte Floyd was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Luella's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Cedar Grove, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 26-3.

Luella does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedar Grove, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-49 win against Baldwin on the 26th.
