Baseball Recap: Jackson Comes Up Short

Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marion Wildcats. The Fighting Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Marion, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Coming up, Jackson will square off against Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cahokia at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Comanches at the right time seeing as the Comanches are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
