Basketball Recap: Atlanta Area School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

Atlanta Area School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 63-40 to the Cottage Cougars. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Leading Cottage to victory were Gavin Akers and Jackson Barnes. Akers dropped a double-double on 26 points and 21 rebounds, while Barnes dropped a double-double on 22 points and 19 boards. The dominant performance gave Akers a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Alex Evans, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Atlanta Area School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Cottage, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cottage beat Atlanta Area School for the Deaf by a score of 67-31 on Thursday.
