Basketball Recap: Currituck County Starts Season with Victory Against Perquimans + How To Watch

Currituck County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 82-57 margin over the Perquimans Pirates. The Knights not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since November 25, 2024 (when they won 82-3).

Currituck County had a senior duo take command as Jamie Dance dropped a triple-double with 28 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists and Tristan Peterson dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Dance is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in each of the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ricky Skinner, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Currituck County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Perquimans' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Currituck County will face off against West Bladen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Currituck County's defense better be ready for this one: West Bladen has averaged an impressive 62 points per game this season. As for Perquimans, they will take on Washington County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
