Softball Recap: Amboy Takes a Loss

If Amboy was feeling good fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Pecatonica last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Amboy took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marquette Crusaders on Thursday. The Clippers were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in May of 2019.

Amboy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Marquette, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Amboy will welcome Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marquette, they will head out on the road to square off against Princeville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Marquette's pitchers better be ready for this one: Princeville has averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
