Volleyball Recap: Hicksville Aces vs. Paulding Panthers
Hicksville had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-13 to make it ten. They lost 3-0 to the Paulding Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aces of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
Their offense was headlined by McKenna Bergman and Mika Inkrott, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from McKenna Baird and her 11 assists.
As for Paulding, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-4. The game was the first time they have beaten Hicksville on their court since October 2, 2017.
Paulding was led to victory by Addison Shull and Tori Schlatter. Shull had 16 digs, while Schlatter had 14 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Shull has posted since back in October of 2024. Anya Mead also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Hicksville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Eastside on the 2nd. As for Paulding, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Ottoville on the 2nd.
