The Covina Colts will take on the Alhambra Moors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Covina sitting on four straight wins and Alhambra on seven.
Covina's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Wilson with a sharp 9-0 victory.
C. Guzman looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Covina's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, R. Silva was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Covina is 4-1 when Silva posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was D. Bowers, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Alhambra was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Bell Gardens. The Moors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Aiden Kim spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Marc Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Nero Navarro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles.
Alhambra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bell Gardens only posted an OBP of .190.
Alhambra pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Covina, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
