Baseball Recap: Cape Fear Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lee Christian on Thursday, Cape Fear Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 17-7 to the Crossroads Christian Colts on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Colts this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-7 defeat back in April.

Cape Fear Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fisher Stancil, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The Eagles are 8-1 when Stancil posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Another was Cooper Davis, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Crossroads Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

As of now, neither Cape Fear Christian Academy nor the Colts have any future games scheduled.
