Baseball Recap: Metamora Takes a Loss

If Metamora was feeling good fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Streator on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redbirds came up short against the East Peoria Raiders on Monday, falling 15-4. The loss continues a trend for the Redbirds in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Avery Grebner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Metamora: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-14 otherwise.

Metamora's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for East Peoria, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-7.

While Metamora had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
