Volleyball Recap: Sandhills Valley Takes a Loss

Sandhills Valley lost against Anselmo-Merna back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mavericks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coyotes. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 23-25, 25-21.

Sandhills Valley's offense was headlined by Rhay Burns and Isabella Waker, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Avery Weems and her 18 assists.

Sandhills Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Anselmo-Merna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Sandhills Valley has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Arcadia/Loup City on the 20th. As for Anselmo-Merna, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Loup.
