Basketball Recap: St. Pius X Find Success

St. Pius X won the last time they faced Grants and things went their way on Friday too. The St. Pius X Sartans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Grants Pirates 56-53. Given the Sartans' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Pirates are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Grants, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Pius X will host Albuquerque Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grants, they will face off against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
