Basketball Recap: Union Takes a Loss

Union came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Morgan Trojans 80-52. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 58-45 to the Trojans when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Morgan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Williams, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Hansen, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten assists.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Morgan, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Union has already played their next matchup, an 88-60 defeat against Wasatch on the 17th. As for Morgan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 90-72 win against Providence Hall on the 16th.
