Softball Recap: Fairmont Wins Going Away Against St. Pauls

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Fairmont was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the St. Pauls Bulldogs 9-2. This was a revenge game for the Golden Tornadoes: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Tuesday, they had to take a 11-0 defeat.

Kimberleigh Stevens was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jamey Quinata, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Stevens wasn't the only one making solid contact: Fairmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Pauls only managed nine hits.

Fairmont's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for St. Pauls, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Fairmont has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 defeat against West Bladen on the 15th. As for St. Pauls, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Clinton on the 15th.
