Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Takes a Loss

If St. Mary was feeling good fresh off their 18-1 takedown of Hutchinson-Central Tech on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lancers fell 8-4 to the Nichols Vikings on Tuesday. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jacob Neuland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Nichols, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary's will challenge Orchard Park at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nichols, they will take on Maryvale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
