Recap: Southwest Onslow Stallions vs. North Lenoir Hawks
The Southwest Onslow Stallions put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past North Lenoir with points to spare, taking the game 54-37. Given Southwest Onslow's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Hawks are ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Southwest Onslow was led to victory by Oriyanna Galloway and Yamorie Hardison. Galloway almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine steals, while Hardison dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. Hardison is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nadiyah Hill, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Southwest Onslow's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.2 points. As for North Lenoir, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Onslow will take on the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Lenoir, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
