Soccer Recap: Cypress Lake Takes a Loss

Cypress Lake and Lemon Bay squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cypress Lake had to settle for second. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lemon Bay Manta Rays who were credited with the win. The Lemon Bay Manta Rays got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Cypress Lake Panthers' one. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Manta Rays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Cypress Lake's goal came courtesy of Jacob Milburn, which was the first he's scored this season.

Cypress Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16-3. As for Lemon Bay, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9-3.

Cypress Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lemon Bay, they will take on Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lemon Bay's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
