Basketball Recap: Armijo Takes a Loss

Armijo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 52-39 to the Vacaville Christian Falcons. The Royals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 69-61.

When it comes to explaining why Armijo lost, don't look at Isreal Legree. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. That was a full 41% of Armijo's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Dantes, who put up eight points.

Vacaville Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brian Laxamana, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dylan Eddings, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Armijo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Vacaville Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Armijo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-48 loss against Pioneer on the 30th. As for Vacaville Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 73-51 defeat against Sonoma Valley on the 30th.
