Kolbe-Cathedral won the last time they faced Brookfield, and Angel Gomez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bobcats on Tuesday with plenty of help from Gomez, who had 38 digs and four aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last 35 games he's played dating back to last season.

Kolbe-Cathedral had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-18.

The victory got Kolbe-Cathedral back to even at 10-10. As for Brookfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kolbe-Cathedral will square off against rival Newtown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Brookfield is set to take on their familiar foe Pomperaug at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
