Softball Game Preview: Washington Demons vs. Fairfield Trojans

Washington is 8-2 against Fairfield since July of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Demons will host the Trojans at 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Washington came up short against Mt. Pleasant and fell 7-3. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Fairfield posted their closest win since June 21, 2025 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Fort Madison 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bloodhounds: they've now won four in a row.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fairfield, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Washington got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in June of 2025 against Fairfield by a conclusive 15-2 score. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
