Preview: Julian Eagles vs. Calexico Mission RoadRunners
Julian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Calexico Mission RoadRunners at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calexico Mission took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Julian, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Julian beat Borrego Springs 42-37.
Meanwhile, Calexico Mission's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-20 loss at the hands of San Pasqual Academy. Calexico Mission has not had much luck with San Pasqual Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Calexico Mission saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Leonardo Li, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Li has scored all season.
Julian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Calexico Mission, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Julian beat Calexico Mission 50-40 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Calexico Mission's Leonardo Longino, who scored 26 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Julian still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
