Rensselaer Central has gone 8-2 against North White recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bombers will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Rensselaer Central beats North White with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Bombers beat Kouts on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The victory was nothing new for the Bombers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kali Northcutt was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Northcutt was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kami Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last nine games. Stacia Crabtree was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Rensselaer Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kouts only posted a batting average of .105.
Meanwhile, North White waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 16-9 win. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly seven runs.
Like Rensselaer Central, North White also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaylyn Applegate. She tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Applegate has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adriann Conn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI. Another player making a difference was Abigail Tribbett, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
North White's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Rensselaer Central, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rensselaer Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North White struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
