Basketball Game Preview: Mapleton Mounties vs. McDonald Blue Devils

The Mapleton Mounties will take on the McDonald Blue Devils in a tournament on Thursday. Mapleton's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so McDonald's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Mapleton got the win against Crestview by a conclusive 51-28. The Mounties have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, McDonald earned a 46-37 win over East Palestine on Thursday.

McDonald's win came from a few key players that Mapleton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Juliana Krumpak, who posted 13 points and seven assists. Sophia Pecchia was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

McDonald was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2025.

McDonald is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Mapleton, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
