Softball Recap: Abernathy Takes a Loss

Abernathy and Post squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Abernathy had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-2 to Post, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Abernathy hasn't had much luck with Post recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Kendal Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bryer Cook, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Abernathy's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Post, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Post beat Abernathy by a score of 11-10 later that day.
