Football Game Preview: Piedmont vs. Wellborn

Wellborn will square off against Piedmont at 7:00 PM on Friday. The odds don't look promising for Wellborn, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.

Wellborn were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their matchup against Pleasant Valley last Friday. Wellborn and Pleasant Valley were almost perfectly matched up, but Wellborn suffered an agonizing 26-27 loss.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Piedmont and Comer. Piedmont steamrollered Comer 42-0. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Piedmont had established a 35-0 advantage.

Wellborn found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 10-35 punch to the gut against Piedmont the last time the two teams met. Can Wellborn avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
