Football Recap: Lake Worth Falls to Panther Creek in First Game of Season

Lake Worth kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 63-0 defeat at the hands of the Panther Creek Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bullfrogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Panthers are ranked 165th).

Lucas Davis threw for 48 yards on seven of 17 attempts. On the ground, Jakobe Smith rushed for 33 yards.

Graylyn Fry was a one-man wrecking crew For Panther Creek. as he threw for 273 yards and five TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Fry a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Jalen Lott also helped out with an impressive 121 receiving yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Worth will head out to take on Brock at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. As for Panther Creek, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Carter at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
