Preview: Monessen Greyhounds vs. Bethlehem Center Bulldogs

The Monessen Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Monessen's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.

Monessen can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They breezed by California at home to the tune of 76-34. Given Monessen's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while California is ranked 717th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even though Frazier scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, Bethlehem Center still came out on top. Bethlehem Center narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Frazier 63-61. The victory was some much needed relief for Bethlehem Center as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Monessen pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.78 points. As for Bethlehem Center, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Everything came up roses for Monessen against Bethlehem Center when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 66-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monessen since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
