Basketball Recap: Sterling Heights Stevenson Comes Up Short

Sterling Heights Stevenson lost against Fitzgerald back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fitzgerald Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Spartans are ranked 33rd).

Sterling Heights Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Fitzgerald, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterling Heights Stevenson and Grosse Pointe North will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. As for Fitzgerald, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Romeo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Romeo comes in on three and Fitzgerald on seven.
