Recap: Perry Commodores vs. Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets
The Perry Commodores came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Cory-Rawson by a score of 45-35. That's another feather in the cap for Perry, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Perry got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mary Hoersten out in front who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Hoersten pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lexenna Lee, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Perry is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Cory-Rawson, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.
Perry will square off against Waynesfield-Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cory-Rawson, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ridgedale at 7:30 p.m.
