Softball Recap: Mercy Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

Mercy won the last time they faced North Bullitt and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 8-1 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

Olivia Colebank spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Haley Rupe was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Emerson Shively was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Mercy's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for North Bullitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
